Gardner And Sinatra Thief Sentenced
A woman has been sentenced to 30 months for stealing prized heirlooms and original Frank Sinatra recordings from the estate of late Hollywood star Ava Gardner. Prosecutors say RENEE SYKES took more than $1 million (GBP555,000) worth of property between 2001 and 2005, when she worked as a nurse caring for Gardner's older sister, MYRA PEARCE. Gardner's closest living relative inherited the estate after the actress died in 1990. Her property included souvenirs from Ava's marriages to actor Mickey Rooney bandleader Artie Shaw and Sinatra.
