Gary Barlow - Gary Barlow Turns Restaurant Critic
British singer Gary Barlow can add restaurant critic to his resume after penning a lengthy review for The Sunday Times.
The Take That star has nurtured a secret ambition to write about upmarket eateries after falling in love with dining out at the age of 18, and his dream came true when editors at the newspaper's Style magazine asked him to pen a column.
Barlow made three separate visits to The Delaunay in the heart of London's West End theatre district, giving four out of five for the quality of its food but just three out of five for atmosphere.
He writes, "I've been a frustrated restaurant critic all my life and even had a little column in a local magazine back in 2005. So, understandably, when Style asked me to share my experiences at one of London's recent openings, I jumped at the chance."
Barlow also admits touring with his band has given him the chance to visit restaurants all over the world, adding, "Name me a city and I'll give you a heap of great eats. Other than music, eating is my true passion."
