Gayle King 's debut on the new CBS breakfast show yesterday elicited praise from her former network boss, Oprah Winfrey. Winfrey took to the social networking site Twitter to tweet "Morning tweeps..I'm up early to watch Cbs morning news. Gayles debut. 4 25 years she watched my show while working out, now I will (sic)." She later sent a public tweet to Gayle, which read "Rock Steady this is your moment! Cbs this Morning."
This Morning is Cbs News' competition to the 'Today' programme and 'Good Morning America'. King is joined by Charlie Rose and Erica Hill as hosts. The three presenters were shown sat at a circular glass table in a new studio at the New York headquarters of Cbs. Before signing for the show, Gayle hosted The Gayle King show on the Oprah Winfrey Network but cancelled the programme in order to concentrate on the Cbs job.
The celebrity blogger Perez Hilton has also congratulated the television personality on her performance, posting the following comments beneath a picture of King: "Cbs This Morning premiered with Gayle King doing a fabulous job!! She and co-hosts Charlie Rose and Erica Hill worked together with good chemistry and a lot to talk about. All in all, that show is off to a Great start!! Good luck to ya, Gayle and gals!!!"
