George Hamilton has quit 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!'
The 70-year-old former 'Dynasty' actor has walked out of the ITV reality show just five days before the final.
George cited he would rather spend time with his family close to Christmas and that he would like someone younger than him, whose career would benefit more from winning the show, to triumph.
He said to TV presenter Kim Woodburn: "I feel like we're down to just a few people, all of whom I like and want to see them all benefit, but I may be standing in their way. Who knows, I may end up in the final three?
"With Christmas coming up it makes sense to spend a few days here with my girl and go back and spend time with my kid.
"Time means more than anything to me now, more than money, more than life, I feel like I've lived a life and I feel easy in my skin, if this was something huge for me to do or to prove something I'd of stuck at it but I don't want to take it away from you guys."
George also said he didn't feel like he was adding much to the camp, as he has been exempt from almost every Bushtucker trial on the show for health reasons.
He added: "I've had a really good time but sometimes I feel I'm not contributing to the camp but I've made up my mind and want to go."
George had earlier said he was thinking of quitting after a two minute phonecall with his girlfriend - who is in Australia to support him - yesterday (29.11.09).
George then spoke to each of the camp mates separately to tell them of his decision before they were all treated for a last meal, by being given the ingredients to make pasta: flour, eggs, kangaroo mince, onion, garlic, tomatoes and parmesan cheese - and a pasta making machine.
Gino D'Acampo assumed the role as lead chef, but everyone all campmates helped out cooking.
