George Harrison - George Harrison Documentary To Premiere In Liverpool
Martin Scorsese's new George Harrison documentary is set to premiere in the U.K. in the beatle's native Liverpool, England.
George Harrison: Living in the Material World opened at Spain's 59th San Sebastian Film Festival on Friday (16Sep11) and it will get its British launch at Liverpool's Foundation for Art and Creative Technology (Fact) on 2 October (11).
The film, made in collaboration with Harrison's widow Olivia, documents the late star's rise to fame and his life as one-quarter of the Fab Four, and features interviews with former bandmates Sir Paul MCCartney and Ringo Starr, as well as John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono.
Chris Peters, general manager of Fact's Picturehouse movie theatre says, "Fact is over the moon to be bringing Liverpool audiences the premiere of George Harrison: Living in the Material World in the city where George's story began.
"A spiritual and musical journey, the documentary places the imaginative and inspired eye of one of cinema's greatest filmmakers on one of the world's most influential men, and Liverpool audiences should expect a deeply moving and touching experience."
