Country star GEORGE STRAIT is to be honoured at the Country Radio Hall of Fame induction ceremony later this month (Feb13) for his contribution to country music.

The singer will be presented with the Country Radio Broadcasters' 2013 Career Achievement Award during the star-studded event in Nashville, Tennesse on 26 February.

Inductees at this year's (13) ceremony will include radio personalities Dr. Don Carpenter, Crook & Chase, Eddie Edwards and Bill 'Dex' Poindexter.

Mike Culotta, President of the Country Radio Seminar, says, "George Strait has done a superb job promoting country music and country radio over the years. His dedication to the format and on-going contribution to the industry as a whole make him the perfect recipient for (sic) this award."

Previous recipients of the award include Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton and Reba MCEntire.
