Gerard Butler looked in good spirits at the Oscars, and as well he might, the star smashing his apparent drug addiction in rehab and checking out just three weeks after entering in order to be rid of his reliance on prescription substances. Mad props to Butler for not choosing to make his public comeback somewhere a little more low key; the Scottish actor was in full A-list form as he returned on the grandest stage of them all, the Oscars, attending Vanity Fair's event after-party, according The New York Daily News.
It's believed that the 39 year-old's problems first came about following the intense work he put himself through when preparing for the action film '300' back in 2006. Butler's work out regimes became the stuff of legend in the build up to that film and the results gave the actor a reputation as a Hollywood hunk thereafter. However when he injured himself last winter whilst surfing for his new film 'Of Men And Mavericks' and it's believed that the dependency on them started again.
However, it took less than a month at the world famous Betty Ford Centre for the star to sort himself out, and he looked as dashing as ever in a Ferragamo tuxedo. He'll need be at full physical and mental fitness this year too; alongside 'Of Men And Mavericks,' Butler has 'Playing The Field' and 'How To Train Your Dragon 2' to come out this year as well.
