Mexican singer/songwriter Gerardo Ortiz's latest Latin album chart number one has come at a price - the artist's cousin and business manager was shot dead last month (Mar11) during an altercation after a concert.
Ortiz, who is known for his hard-hitting hits about Mexico's drug wars, has debuted his third album To Die & Exist at the top of Billboard's Top Latin Albums countdown - but the success is bittersweet.
He barely survived an ambush by a gang opposed to his lyrics, while his cousin Ramiro Caro and a driver were killed.
No arrests have been made but police in Colima, Mexico are investigating the attack.
