Gibson's Rep Terminates Schwarzenegger's Jibes
Mel Gibson's spokesman has laughed off Arnold Schwarzenegger's wisecracks about the star's troubled personal life after THE Terminator legend compared the embattled actor to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
The California Governor made a series of jokes at Gibson's expense while speaking to a group of utility commissioners in Sacramento, California on Wednesday (21Jul10) about the BP oil leak which has wreaked havoc along America's south-east coastline.
The actor-turned-politician told the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, "The good news is that BP has contained the oil leak. That is good news... The bad news is that no one has figured out how to contain Mel Gibson."
He went on to reference Gibson's personal problems, including a series of tape recordings which purportedly feature the actor hurling abuse at his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.
Schwarzenegger added, "This is why I want to ask all of you to just please turn off your cell phones because we are expecting a call from him."
But Gibson's rep, Alan Nierob, insists his client has taken the jokes in good humour: "He's (Schwarzenegger is) obviously paving the way for a return to showbiz."
