Gma Returns To No. 1 In The A.m.
After falling behind NBC's Today show during the Olympics by more than 1.5 million viewers, ABC's Good Morning America has returned to the lead, taking over first place on Tuesday by a margin of 186,000 viewers and on Wednesday (the day of Robert Pattinson's appearance) by 517,000 viewers. Meanwhile on Thursday, Today 's weatherman, Al Roker, appeared to refer to the jettisoning of Ann Curry during some badinage between himself, Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, and Tamron Hall and the women's rowing team Thursday morning after team members remarked that they have a tradition of throwing the team captain into the water after a win. Lauer then commented, "The tradition here in New York is you throw her in the Hudson River" -- at which point Roker interjected, "Which is different than our tradition, which is you throw One Of Us under the bus, but that's another story." Lauer, who is widely reported to have engineered Curry's dismissal, tsk-tsked, "Mr. Roker!" But Roker ignored him and returned to his script.
