I fully agree with (wildifire & kwjd), everyone is entitled to their own opinion so the views from animal rights groups are respected BUT i have to disagree that Gordon Ramsay was eating the food to "make him look interesting", the guy has numerous Michellin stars to his name and does not need to look any more interesting than he already is. He was simply eating local, traditional food of the country. The snake was in no distress, wasnt made to suffer any longer than it needed to. I see that Animal Rights campaigners will jump onto anything to try and corrupt the views of the neutral viewer, it is these sort of people that would down right offend the locals in countries like Vietnam, Cambodia etc with there obscure views.

kwjd,You are,of course, given the right to speak your mind. But what I believe is that you have failed to understand that Gordon Ramsay was in another country, eating & drinking foods & beverages that are indigenous to the peoples of that particular country. In some instances it would be considered an insult to the people of a country had he not eaten what they themselves may have believed to the the best of the best food available. Offered to Mr. Ramsay as a show of respect. In order for Mr. Ramsay to have a TRUE experience,he must live as the people of the country do. No 5 star Donald Trump luxuries for this very, very real MAN. Mr Ramsay continues to grow as a chef and as a man by doing the Great Escapes. I can not wait for them to air here in the U.S...where we are all judged as being the laughing stock of the world, fat, lazy and spineless. Gordon Ramsay takes some of us, like myself, who are beddriden with incurable illnesses to places I myself shall not ever have the opportunity to see. Thank you Mr. Ramsay as well as Mr Anthony Bordain, both of whom I find myself living vicariously, breathlessly, and joyfully with each of you from my hospital bed. May God bless & keep both of you & yours in His care.

How silly, I hate animal cruelty I watched this and didnt see any. that country eats those sorts of things so what, the animal was not in distress they made a meal out of the animal, nothing is wasted maybe the uk should think a little like this with all the wasted food we have.
