Kelsey Grammer's ex-wife Camille has taken aim at the actor for encouraging her to sign up for U.S. reality series The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills - because the programme captured the "worst year" of her life.
The actor jetted to New York to star in Tony-winning play La Cage Aux Folles in 2010, leaving his then-wife Camille behind as she prepared for a starring role in the reality TV series in Los Angeles.
The 43 year old was so busy with the new project she didn't realise her marriage was falling apart - and Frasier star Grammer reportedly broke up with her over the phone later that year.
And now Camille, who recently announced her decision to leave the show after just two seasons, blames her ex for encouraging her to take part in the real-life drama while battling to save their marriage.
She says, "The first season was horrible because they were filming me during the worst year of my whole life. My whole life was falling apart. My husband left me, he was having an affair with another woman in New York City, while I'm filming a reality show. I mean it doesn't get worse than that.
"My ex said it was gift. 'Yes, thank you Kelsey for the gift of humiliation for the first season.' At the end I can say I have a good relationship with the girls... I enjoyed my experience with the franchise, I still talk to everybody."
