Hollywood's iconic Grauman's Chinese theater, the site of more movie premieres than any other theater in Hollywood, is not going to become Chinese but will be named after a Chinese company. TCL, a Shanghai-based TV and mobile phone maker, has reportedly signed a 10-year, $5-million deal for naming rights to the theater. China Daily reported on Sunday that the deal gives TCL rights to use the venue free on a certain number of days every year, promotional ads before every feature, and LED displays featuring the company's name inside the theater and outside in the entrance area where stars have placed their hand- and footprints. TCL also agreed to help revamp the 86-year-old theater's sound and projection system.
