TV executives behind hit medical drama GREY'S ANATOMY have berated Katherine Heigl for her recent outburst in which she criticised the show's "cruel and mean" work schedule.
The actress spoke out in a bid to "embarrass" her bosses after she was forced to work a 17 hour day when the series came back from hiatus last month (Jul09).
Steve MCPherson, President of America's ABC network, has slammed the Knocked Up star for going public with her opinions - because she's not the only staff member putting in long hours on the show.
He tells the Hollywood Reporter, "I think it's unfortunate. People are going to behave in the way they choose to behave. There are so many people who work so hard on 'Grey's,' and all of our shows, without any notoriety and those are the ones I'd be concerned about, people who feel like they're being criticised or looked down upon."
