Gwyneth Paltrow has praised Beyonce Knowles as the "most talented human being on the planet".

The actress and the 'Halo' singer are close friends and regularly holiday together with their respective husbands, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and rapper Jay-Z, and Gwyneth admits she has a huge amount of professional respect for her.

She said: "Beyonce is the most talented human being on the planet.

"She has so much mastery over what she does. It's not even confidence - it's on a whole other level. It's mind-blowing."

While the 38-year-old actress - who has two children, daughter Apple, six, and four-year-old son Moses, with Chris - thinks of Beyonce and Jay-Z as her "best couple friends", she admits she sometimes feels overwhelmed in their presence.

She added to the UK edition of Harpers Bazaar magazine: "You don't really think about it, but then sometimes you're all together and someone will say something and you're like, 'Whoa, this is a crazily talented group! Jesus!' "

Gwyneth plays a country singer in new movie 'Country Strong' and along with asking Beyonce for advice on how to sing onscreen she also went to watch the 29-year-old pop star in action to see if she could pick up any useful tips.

She explained: "I watched her [perform] a lot to see how she did it, and I was like 'S**t! I can't do that!'"

Along with discussing singing tips, Gwyneth likes to do normal things with Beyonce and revealed the music megastar even helps her take her kids to school when she is in London.

She said: "In England, people are cool. They're really laid back and calm. Beyonce did the school run with me once and everyone was fine."
