Halo - Halo Composer Fired
The composer of the original Halo video game soundtrack has been fired.
Marty O'Donnell took to Twitter.com on Wednesday (16Apr14) to inform fans he had been terminated "without cause" by directors at gaming firm Bungie on 11 April (14).
The former Halo bosses have since confirmed the news.
O'Donnell was working with Sir Paul MCCartney on music for Bungie's upcoming game Destiny.
His work with Bungie dates back to the mid-1990s and his music featured prominently on the first Halo trailer, which was unveiled at 1999's MACWorld convention.
He composed music for all Halo's sequels, but was not involved in Halo 4 after Microsoft game executives split from Bungie and created an internal division, 343 Industries, to manage the franchise.
