Haneke To Receive Career Prize In Munich
Austrian director Michael Haneke will follow up his triumph at the Cannes Film Festival in France by collecting another honour in Germany this summer (09).
The filmmaker scooped the prestigious Palme d'Or (Golden Palm) on Sunday (24May09) for his drama The White Ribbon, about residents in a small German town struck by tragedy as World War I looms.
And he is to be feted by his peers once again at the Munich Film Festival on 3 July (09), when he will be presented with the CineMerit Award, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The Munich movie event kicks off on 26 June and runs through till 4 July (09).
