Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein has been granted a temporary restraining order against the same man accused of allegedly harassing singer Sheryl Crow.
Phillip Gordon Sparks was ordered to stay away from the All I Wanna Do hitmaker last month (Jul12) after he claimed Crow had stolen money from him and reportedly threatened to harm the star in a series of angry posts online.
Now it's alleged homeless Sparks has also been targeting Weinstein after becoming convinced the Hollywood producer had teamed up with Crow to rob him and destroy his life.
In his legal papers, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court and obtained by Tmz.com, Weinstein vehemently denies the allegations and insists he has never met Sparks, who is said to have phoned officials at the Screen Actors Guild in Hollywood and threatened to "just shoot" both him and Crow.
Weinstein also expresses fears for his life as Sparks was "aware of some of my personal activities that I did not publicize", adding, "Unless the court issues the restraining order against Mr. Sparks... I am greatly concerned that Mr. Sparks may physically harm me, my family members, close friends, agents, and representatives."
The judge overseeing both Weinstein and Crow's cases is due to rule on whether to make the restraining orders permanent during a hearing on Tuesday (14Aug12).
