Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have two former US Marines as bodyguards.

The couple hired the men - nicknamed Venom and Vader - to protect them because of the abuse and threats they received from crazed fans after starring on reality TV show 'The Hills' and the pair keep the marines with them 24/7 to feel safe.

Spencer explained: ''They are our Marine bodyguards. Venom got bit in the eye by a rattle snake and lived and Vader's name is Garth so we call him Garth Vader.

''They are these bad-ass Marines who have been in our lives for four years. We can't go for a meal without being harassed.

''Vader lives with us, he has his own guest house out the back. We went to the Marine Corps base and asked if there was any special forces Marines we could have as security and they got us these guys.''

Heidi and Spencer finished as joint runners-up on British reality series 'Celebrity Big Brother' on Friday (25.01.13), losing to 'X Factor' star Rylan Clark.

The couple were repeatedly branded ''fake'' in the house, an accusation that has been levelled at them before, and criticised for their extremely close bond.

But Heidi insists their relationship and behaviour around each other is genuine and she is a ''perfectionist'' as a wife who strives to please her husband.

She told the Daily Star newspaper: ''I'm a perfectionist. I'm kind of bossy, so at home he's not allowed to leave cups around.

''If I make the bed he's not allowed to sit on it for the rest of the day, I'm being serious, it's because I fluff it perfectly.

''I've always been that way, my closet is colour coded. When people ask me what I wanted to be when I was a kid I said a housewife and taking care of my husband.''
