Guitar great Jimi Hendrix is to become a videogame star thanks to a new deal between his half-sister and the brains behind the Rock Band franchise.
Janie Hendrix, who controls the late star's estate, has confirmed there will be a Hendrix edition of Rock Band before the end of 2010, marking the 40th anniversary of the Purple Haze hitmaker's death.
Bosses at videogame publisher MTV Games have yet to confirm the news, but an announcement is expected once their next artist-based game, Green Day: Rock Band, is released later this year (10).
The Beatles: Rock Band became a videogame phenomenon when it was released last year (09).
