British actor Henry Cavill missed the call of his career because he was too busy playing computer games.

Cavill landed the coveted lead role in Superman reboot Man Of Steel but was too engrossed in live action video game World Of Warcraft to pick up his phone when director Zack Snyder rang to offer him the part.

The 29-year-old actor was reluctant to step away from his screen as the online role-playing game cannot be paused, but immediately rang Snyder back after realising the importance of the call he had missed.

He tells Britain's GQ magazine, "I saw it was him (Snyder calling), but the thing is, you can't save World Of Warcraft, you can't pause it. It's live."
