Celebrity wrestler Hulk Hogan has settled a negligence lawsuit over a 2007 car crash, which left a 19-year-old ex-Marine with permanent brain damage.
Hogan's son Nick Bollea pleaded no contest to reckless driving for his part in the high-speed collision in Clearwater, Florida, which left passenger John Graziano with a skull fracture. He completed 166 days of an eight-month prison sentence in 2008.
Graziano's family filed an auto negligence civil lawsuit against Nick, his wrestler dad Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, his mother Linda Bollea and friend Daniel Jacob in March (09), alleging they were negligent in their actions, which led to Graziano's injuries.
An attorney for the Graziano family announced the settlement on Friday (19Feb10) but did not disclose its terms.
Graziano was under doctors' care at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, Florida following the accident. He was discharged last September (09Sep09) and allowed to go home with his mother, but is still in need of 24-hour care.
Hogan's estranged wife Linda previously settled with Graziano's family.
