Dakota Fanning has been named homecoming queen at her high school.

The 16-year-old 'Runaways' actress was given the title for the second time in a row by fellow students at North Hollywood's Campbell Hall Episcopal High School, where she is a senior.

Dakota was given the accolade on Monday (08.11.10), when - wearing a tiara and sash and holding a bouquet of roses - she posed for pictures with fellow student Henry Aleck, a football player who had been voted homecoming king.

The 'Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' actress - who shot to fame aged seven in 'I Am Sam' - recently admitted she took on the role of Cherie Currie in 'The Runaways' so she could experience normal life without harming herself.

She explained: "I am getting older and I wanted to do something I hadn't done before. There are girls in The Real World who are the same age as me and have already lived a very full life. Some come through it without a scratch - others get into a mess.

"I wanted to stand on the sidelines and see, from the perspective of my well-regulated life, what they go through without getting hurt."
