Actress KALEY CUOCO has revealed she almost lost her foot after a horse trampled on her in a recent riding accident.
The Big Bang Theory star fell off her steed during a recent lesson and her panicked horse snapped her ankle as it trotted away.
Cuoco was taken to hospital, where doctors advised her she could come out of surgery with one less foot - if they had to amputate.
Hobbling onto comedienne Ellen DeGeneres' chat show on Tuesday (12Oct10) with one leg in plaster, the unlucky actress explained her foot was literally hanging off and she was in agony.
She said, "I'm hysterical and the doctor comes in... and says, 'OK, gotta go over your options; one (of) them is amputation.' All I'm thinking is, 'I'm gonna have to call work and tell them I only have one foot.'
"He really was telling me that they were thinking there was infection... (I thought) my foot was gonna be gone... They had to tell me because I was going into emergency surgery that I might be coming out with one foot."
But Cuoco didn't lose her foot - instead she spent two weeks in hospital, underwent two major surgeries and was fitted with "metal bars" to her leg.
She added, "For the rest of my life I'll be setting off metal detectors."
And despite the anguish and the hell she went through, the accident hasn't put the actress off horseriding and she's keen to get back in the saddle.
She told DeGeneres, "If I could get this (cast) through my saddle, I would be on (a horse) right now... It was just a freak thing so I can't wait to get back out there."
