Frank Lampard might be down in the dumps at missing out on a place in England's European Championship football squad this summer, but when you've got a classy lady like Christine Bleakley on your arm you're never going to stay miserable for long. That certainly wasn't the case for Chelsea man Lampard as his partner gave him a day to remember for his 34th birthday after taking him to the racing at Royal Ascot, where the Metro newspaper caught the footballer cracking smiles and having a laugh - a far cry from his recent mood.
Lampard was even charitable enough to be happy that the England team had qualified for the quarter finals of Euro 2012 in his absence; the squad beat host nation Ukraine last night 1-0 to book their spot against Italy next weekend, and Bleakley tweeted "Morning all, got a happy birthday boy... England won, the sun is shining and we're at Ascot. Thank you for your lovely tweets xx".
Lampard looked dapper in a black suit and matching skinny tie, with Bleakley looking ravishing in a white shift dress pulled together by a black belt; she completed her outfit with a stylish black hat. How couldn't you smile at a look like that.
