Fisherman's Friends singer Trevor Grills is in a critical condition in hospital after sustaining serious injuries in a freak accident which cost the band's manager his life.
Paul MCMullen was fatally hurt after a metal door at the G Live venue in Guildford, England fell and crushed him, just hours before the British singing group was due to perform there on Saturday (09Feb13).
The gig was subsequently cancelled and Grills was admitted to St. George's Hospital in London for treatment, but his bandmate, Jon Cleave, reveals the prognosis isn't looking good.
He says, "The Fisherman's Friends are very touched and moved by the concern and support shown for our friends, Trevor and Paul. We would like to express our... thanks to everyone for that...
"Trevor is fighting for his life in the presence of his family in hospital... All our love and thoughts are with them at this time."
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
