Actor Hugh Jackman bonds with the cast and crew of his movies by treating everyone on the set to a lottery ticket.
The X-Men star ensures the entire movie-making staff feels relaxed before the cameras start rolling by encouraging them to gamble.
He explains, "I buy 500 lottery tickets of whichever country I happen to be in and I hand them out to all the crew and the cast; they all get a chance of winning the Jackman jackpot.
"When I was starting out on films in Oz (Australia), everyone knew everyone else on the set, it was very relaxed. Then about 12 years ago I made my first film in Hollywood and it was very different, a lot of new faces.
"I didn't want to do the big politician bit and wander around introducing myself which would have made me look a bit of a s**thead, so I came up with the lottery ticket giveaway. That broke the ice and we all established a sort of instant link. I've kept on doing it over the years."
But Jackman admits the tradition has yet to reap a big payday, adding, "The odd thing is that out of all those tickets there has only been one big winner, if you can call $110 'big'."
