Who wouldn't be feeling a little smug if they'd just signed a $24 million contract to play basketball for the Brooklyn Nets? Kris Humphries is certainly feeling pleased with himself, having done just that and he's not afraid about who knows it, either. Humphries, who is currently embroiled in a divorce battle with Kim Kardashian, who is currently in a relationship with Kanye West, recently made the decision to stay put in Brooklyn and signed a whopping $24 million deal with the team. And he did what any jilted lover would do (possibly) in those circumstances and took to Twitter to make a dig at his ex-wife's new beau. Because that's how it works, right?
Now, to be fair, Kanye kinda started this one, when he wrote the lyrics to 'Way Too Cold.' In the song, he espouses his love for Kim Kardashian and makes a vague threat towards Humphries' career in the same breath, with the lyrics "And I'll admit, I had fell in love with Kim/Around the same time she had fell in love with him/ Well that's cool, baby girl, do ya thang/ Lucky I ain't had Jay drop him from the team." For those not in the know, that's a reference to his good friend Jay Z, who just happens to be a co-owner of the Brooklyn Nets.
You could say that Humphries had the last laugh, though, when he inked the $24 million deal and then sent Kanye a message on Twitter that said "I'm up at Brooklyn! lucky I didn't have Jay drop me from the team" lol!" LOL indeed. There's no response from Kanye yet, but it doesn't usually take much to make him bite.
