Anti-terrorism authorities in Hungary have dropped an investigation into a cache of illegal guns seized from the set of Brad Pitt's upcoming movie World War Z.
Almost 100 unauthorised weapons were confiscated by police in Budapest in October (11) amid fears the haul could fall into the hands of illegal arms traffickers.
Production executives, including Pitt, who stars in and produces the project, faced questioning over the gun find, but officials at Hungary's National Bureau of Investigations dropped the case this week (begs06Feb12) due to a technicality.
According to Eonline.com, authorities failed to identify which organisation or person had "ownership rights" over the lot, making it impossible to hold the appropriate party accountable.
The guns were discovered among the movie's props in an area of Budapest's international airport.
