Anthrax star Scott Ian has been forced to sit out another show after he was hospitalised in California earlier this week (beg23Jan12).
The guitarist missed the band's gig in Kansas City, Missouri on Thursday night (26Jan12) after falling sick with an undisclosed condition.
It has now been revealed the rocker was admitted to hospital close to his home in Los Angeles on Wednesday (25Jan12) after contracting a viral infection. He was later discharged and doctors ordered him not to fly for at least 24 hours.
Ian subsequently missed the band's show in Missouri and he had to sit out another gig in Indianapolis, Indiana on Friday (28Jan12).
Guitarists from support acts Testament and Death Angel have stepped into replace Ian at the shows.
Testament drummer Gene Hoglan has also helped out in the absence of Anthrax percussionist Charlie Benante, who left the line-up this week (beg23Jan12) to fly to New York to be with his sick mother.
Anthrax's Rob Caggiano tells Blabbermouth.net, "We didn't want to cancel any of the concerts, we didn't want to let anyone down so we decided to figure out a way to keep the show on the road. We're so grateful to the guys in Testament and Death Angel for stepping up."
