Imogen Thomas - Imogen Thomas Vindicated In Football Blackmail Battle
Imogen Thomas has been found innocent of blackmailing a professional footballer in light of the affair the pair had whilst the latter was still married to his long term partner. It brings to an end months of controversy which saw the sports star gain a gagging order on the former 'Big Brother UK' contestant only for politician John Hemming to out him as Welsh star Ryan Giggs in parliament. That order still remains in place, for what its worth, but the man involved subsequently took Thomas to court, accusing her of blackmailing him so that the story of the affair wouldn't go public.
Thomas was accused of blackmailing the star so that the affair wouldn't go public, with the man involved having a huge international profile following years of playing his sport - indeed, the press largely reported this as fact, according to The Guardian. However he has since admitted that this was not the case, the defendant's solicitor David Price saying that he "accepts there is no basis to accuse Ms Thomas of blackmail" adding that the allegation was "not how Ctb [as he referred to in court] had put it himself".
Speaking after the outcome, the Welsh reality star said "To suddenly have to defend my character, because of this legal process, has been extremely upsetting and stressful. I'm just relieved that the parties and the court now accept that I'm no blackmailer. I have been vindicated and that's all I wanted. I have nothing to add - it's all behind me now."
