The Original Rudeboys - Irish Band Refuses To Open For Chris Brown
Irish hip-hop trio The Original Rudeboys have snubbed an offer to open for R&B star CHRIS BROWN in the U.K. because of his 2009 assault conviction.
The Kiss Kiss hitmaker broke up with Rihanna three years ago after he infamously left her battered and bruised during an argument on the eve of the Grammy Awards.
He was charged with assault, placed on probation, and ordered to stay away from his ex until his restraining order was lifted last year (11).
And now The Original Rudeboys have turned down the chance to support Brown at his upcoming show at the O2 Arena in their native Dublin on 3 December (12) because they fear the slot will make it seem they condone his bad behaviour.
Bandmate Sean Walsh tells Irish Tv station Rte, "Even though it's a huge opportunity to play in the O2 with a major hip-hop star and a substantial fee was offered, we are completely against Chris Brown's assault on Rihanna...
"In addition, with our latest single Blue Eyes being about domestic violence, it goes against everything we are about as a band and supporting Chris Brown would send out the wrong message to our fans."
