Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling's first adult fiction book is to be turned into a Tv series.
The Casual Vacancy is to be dramatised for the Bbc, and the celebrated writer will work closely with producers as the series comes together next year (13) for a premiere in 2014.
The bestseller centres around an unexpected death in a British village.
Thrilled Rowling says, "I always felt that, if it were to be adapted, this novel was best suited to television and I think the Bbc is the perfect home."
