Ja Rule, the American rapper who is set to begin his 18-month prison sentence on gun possession charges, says he wants to begin his next tour the day he is released from jail. Ja Rule, who is currently putting the finishes touches to two new albums before starting his sentence, claims he wants the tour bus to come "straight to the prison".
The rapper, real name Jeffrey Atkins, says he will begin his "40 Days/40 Nights Around the World' tour as soon as he is released, telling Rap-Up.com, "I want the bus to come straight to the prison and take me to my first show. Put my family on the bus, have them come to the first few cities, send them back home, and let me keep going. It'll be international, 40 cities in 40 nights. I'll be so fresh and ready to go". The New York MC has almost completed work on the forthcoming albums 'Pain Is Love 2' and 'The Renaissance'. The first record is scheduled to hit shelves on 7th June 2011, one day before the rapper begins his sentence. Ja Rule, who will be spending his first time in prison, says he will be forced to write songs whilst incarcerated, saying, "I haven't written rhymes in over 10 years. It was all in my head. I'm going to go in jail and write because it's just going to be impossible to store all that shit in my brain".
In 2007, Ja Rule was arrested for gun and drug possession charges along with Lil Wayne and Don Rhys. In 2010, Wayne served eight months in prison stemming from the arrest.
