Michael Jackson has attacked his father's harsh punishment methods from beyond the grave.
The King of Pop often spoke out about beatings he received as a child at the hands of his dad, Joe - and now newly-released taped interviews he recorded with former spiritual advisor Rabbi Shmuley Boteach have revealed the sick extremes the Jackson family patriarch went to to discipline his kids.
Boteach has released the tapes, recorded between 1999 and 2001, to the media to promote his new book The Michael Jackson Tapes, and during an appearance on America's Today show on Friday morning (25Sep09), the Rabbi played an extract from the 30 hours of interviews.
In the sample, Jackson could be heard telling his former friend, "He (Joe) was rough. The way he would beat you was hard... He would make you strip nude first, he would oil you down. It would be a whole ritual. He would oil you down, so when the flip of the ironing cord hit you... it was just like me dying, and you had whips all over your face, your back, everywhere.
"I always heard my mother like, 'No Joe, you're gonna kill 'em, you're gonna kill 'em.' And I would just give up, like there was nothing I could do... And I hated him for it."
Joe Jackson has maintained he never beat his children.

I think this story about the beatings is a bit far fetched and the tape may have been edited. Why did we never see thee on his face? Why is the only Jackson sibling who claims this kind of treatment. No sibling has stood up and supported these claims, not even his own mother that he is close to? When I listen to the Oxford speech which occurred after this, I get the feeling that some of his earlier memories were planted by people like Liz Taylor who had her own troubled childhood. Tom Mesereus said that Michael could be easily led in any direction. In the Oxford speech he said that a flood of memories started coming back to him and he realized "he really did love me".I was all for him and belief his dad was a strict disciplinarian. But his stories are starting being different each time he told it. He said he believed know one loved him yet he praised his mother as being perfect. This could be all this rabbi's doing to get his book sold.

Marlon said he saw Michael being abused. He said Michael was being held upside down by one leg by Joe while he beat him. I believe Michael.

Sometimes our pain is so strong and we remember things that may be never happened at all. I don’t really know where the truth is.

I'm 47 and my mother used to whip us with our hot wheel tracks ( a 3 foot orange flexible plastic strip) It would leave two rows of red welts and hurt for hours. By the next day the welts were gone. I told my mother that she used to beat us and she claims she never beat us. I know it happened. My Mother did it in anger back then so she had her reasons. I think the same did thing happen with Michael. The marks from a whipping go away in a day or two so just because we didn't see marks didn't mean it didn't happen. Back then your teacher would whip you in class (I was spanked one time in first grade for saying a bad word to a student who told the teacher and she spanked both of us). It was a different time in the 60's. Spankings were normal.

I believe it. This ritual sounds very familiar...the whole switch and oil thing. I wonder though, why would friends make money from their dead friends?
