Michael Jackson - Jackson Trial Delayed After Witness' Family Member Dies
The trial of Michael Jackson's doctor has been put on hold after one of the prosecution witnesses lost a family member.
Dr. Steven Shafer began testifying in the case against Dr. Conrad Murray on Thursday (14Oct11), and was due back in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday (17Oct11) - but he has now pulled out of proceedings following the death of a loved one, according to Reuters.
Judge Michael Pastor is expected to meet with prosecutors and defence lawyers on Monday to discuss when to resume the trial.
An email from the court, obtained by CNN, reads, "Resumption of the trial will be announced when further information is available."
Murray stands accused of involuntary manslaughter amid accusations he administered the fatal dose of Propofol which resulted in his famous client's death in 2009. He has denied the charge.
