Veteran actor SIR Derek Jacobi will resume his U.K. tour of King Lear in Belfast, Northern Ireland after he was forced to bow out of three sold-out performances in Wales over the weekend (25-27Feb11) due to voice problems.
The Brit is taking his acclaimed performance of the Shakespeare play around Britain and was set to star as the tortured monarch at venues in Llandudno, Wales on Friday and Saturday night (25-26Feb11).
Jacobi had to pull out because he lost his voice, forcing organisers to cancel the shows altogether.
But the star has promised to be back on form for his performance at The Grand Opera in Belfast on Tuesday (01Mar11).
A spokesperson for the theatre says, "The Grand Opera House is delighted to confirm that this week's sell-out performances of King Lear, starring Derek Jacobi, will proceed as scheduled.
"The production team arrived this morning, and the curtain will go up to a full house on Tuesday at 7.30pm as planned."
