Jai Courtney - Jai Courtney Details Troubles With American Immigration Authorities
Australian actor Jai Courtney endured an "intense" grilling by American immigration authorities while he was searching for jobs in Los Angeles as he was entering the U.S. so often.
The A Good Day to Die Hard star admits he was travelling back and forth from the city on a regular basis during the early days of his career, staying for three months at a time to look for acting work.
However, his movements raised the suspicions of border officials, who eventually detained him for questioning over his visits.
He tells the Sydney Morning Herald, "I started coming to L.A. as often as I could, for three months on and three months off, because immigration kicks you out after 90 days. I certainly made the immigration authorities suspicious, and I got detained at LaX Airport after my fifth or sixth trip with this intense questioning, like, 'Why do you keep coming back?' And I'd say, 'I've got friends', or 'I love La so much'. I was running out of excuses by the time I finally got a job."
