Jake Gyllenhaal saw a shooting in Los Angeles last night (13.07.11).

The 'Source Code' star was with 'Battle: Los Angeles' actor Michael Pena at the scene of a gang shooting when they were riding with an overnight police patrol in south Los Angeles doing research for their forthcoming movie 'End of Watch', which sees them both play police officers.

Sgt. Angela McGee revealed a gang member was shot by a rival and he is now thought to have two grazing wounds on his arm and above his lip, but no arrests were made.

'End of Watch' stars Jake (Officer Taylor) and Michael (Officer Zavala) - who is no stranger to working with guns after starring in 2007's 'Shooter' alongside Mark Wahlberg - will act alongside Fernando Lara in the forthcoming movie, and there has been speculation 'Twilight' actress Anna Kendrick could be in line for a role in the motion picture.
