James Franco doesn't enjoy acting.

The 'Milk' star - who was accepted to Yale University to study a Ph.D in English earlier this year - admits the movie world is not his main passion.

He said: "Acting doesn't do very much for me.

"I put off school for it, but it's not like it was a sacrifice or anything. I didn't really miss school until I went back.

"Or maybe I missed it and nobody believed that, not even me. The work of it - and I have really great teachers - that's the stuff that adds up for me in a way that acting doesn't."

Despite not being keen on his profession, he is due to hit cinema screens in 'Eat, Pray, Love' alongside Julia Roberts.

Discussing the project, Franco told Esquire magazine: "What can I say about 'Eat, Pray, Love'?

"Let's see. You know, in 'Eat, Pray, Love', my character mostly appears n the first 20 pages of the book. And I can definitely say I read the first 20 pages."

Franco currently has a number of movie roles, including 'Rise of the Apes', which he is filming alongside Andy Serkis and Freida Pinto.
