At the same time as enthusing about his role in the remake of Dustin Hoffman classic 'Straw Dogs,' James Marsden was also watching his private life get torn apart; it's come to light that his wife and fellow actor Lisa Linde filed for divorce on September 23rd.
The couple married in 2000 and have two children; however Linde has cited irreconcilable differences and is seeking support and joint legal and physical custody. A representative has told Tmz "This was a mutual decision. They are committed to raising their kids together and remain great friends." Tmz also posted a video of Marsden outside a hot dog stall in New York at 4:30am on the morning of the divorce filing, singing happily with friends.
News of the split may come as a surprise, but as the Daily Mail pointed out, the couple haven't been seen together in public since March where they were at the premiere of Marsden's film 'Hop' in Los Angeles. However, Marsden has come across as upbeat in recent interviews, enthusing about his role in 'Straw Dogs' where he told the Miami Herald how proud he was of the remake, while on a similar thread he has the role of Charles Manson in the film 'The Loft and Dead Circus' to look forward to.
