Jane Lynch - Jane Lynch Overjoyed To Be Hosting Emmy Awards
Jane Lynch, the American actress and star of 'Glee', has been confirmed to host this year's Emmy Awards, just days after she delivered a humorous speech about Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck, reports U.S Weekly. Jane Lynch will take centre-stage at this year's awards ceremony in Los Angeles on 18th September 2011.
The news comes just two days after Lynch hit the headlines for her deadpan introduction to the D9 Tech conference on Tuesday (31st May 2011). Referring to herself as the "acting CEO" of Rupert Murdoch's 'News Corp' the actress took swipes at a number of right-wing commentators and political figures. Lynch started, "As acting Ceo, I'll be making some changes while the powers-that-be are abroad", adding, "(I've) convinced Glenn Beck to stay on at Fox for one final gig - as a dying patient on 'House' with a horrendous malady. His sickness is consuming him from the inside out". She also had the former Governor of Alaska in her sights, saying, "Though not firm as of yet, we are pretty sure we got Sarah Palin to do a guest spot on 'Glee'. She'll be singing an original tune that I penned. It's called, 'Look at Me, I'm Batsh*t Crazy", adding, "I feel pretty good about these changes".
Jane Lynch, a comedic veteran who has appeared in 'The 40-Year-Old Virgin' and 'Role Models', said she was overjoyed to be hosting the Emmy Awards, adding, "I'm looking forward to singing, dancing and sporting my finest tracksuit".
