Janet Jackson can "breathe a little better" now Conrad Murray's trial is over.

The 45-year-old singer admitted the trial of her late brother Michael Jackson's former doctor - who was found guilty of the involuntary manslaughter of the 'Thriller' hitmaker - was a stressful time that affected her weight, but she is now thinking positively about her future.

Janet - who has struggled with her fluctuating weight for years - told Us Weekly: "It's been a difficult couple of years. And then I've been very, very busy on top of that.

"I have little ways to go to get healthy and to feel the best that I know I can feel. I know I'm on my way to success."

Janet admits she is an emotional eater and often resorts to consuming food when she feels "really stressed" in her life because she sees it as her "comfort place".

She added: "[My weight] is something I've dealt with all my life, and it's been an issue for me.

"People can relate to me because I have lived it. I truly understand what it's like to have a problem with weight loss, losing too much weight or gaining more than you desire to and becoming unhealthy.

"When I'm down or really stressed, I eat because that's my comfort place. I've had a problem with my body image. So that's why it's really, really important to get to where you really feel comfortable. You need to look at yourself and say, 'I like this, I feel good about this. I feel healthy, I feel strong, and this is where I want to be.' "

Murphys Law

I don't believe this... not only Murray was accused of killing Michael, now he is accused of fattening up his sister. Like most people Janet Jackson has been brainwashed into eating processed junk that they think is "food", but in reality it's not. The more you eat that stuff, the more you crave it. Willpower, that's all it takes... a good place to start is to stop blaming others. It looks like shifting blame runs in the Jackson family... Google up: " The Jackson Tribute Fragrances"
