Jay Z - Jay Z, Father-to-be, Wins Man Of The Year Award
Jay Z can apparently do no wrong these days, with a current tour alongside 'Watch The Throne' collaborator Kanye West selling out across the states following the record shooting to the top of the Billboard charts, and a happy marriage to pop mega star Beyonce, things all seem to be well within the world of Hova. It's perhaps no surprise then to see him win GQ Magazine's 'Man of The Year', according to MTV.
There's something Izzo hasn't had the chance to master yet; fatherhood. Apparently though this is a task he feels he can accomplish as well; "Providing - that's not love, being there - that's more important. I mean, we see that. We see that with all these rich socialites. They're crying out for attention; they're hurting for love. I'm not being judgmental - I'm just making an observation," said the rapper, continuing, "They're crying out for the love that maybe they didn't get at home, and they got everything, all the material things that they need and want. So we know that's not the key."
It sounds like Jay junior's going to be in safe hands then, and with his wife expecting, the 41 year-old was in reflective mood about father and son relationships, speaking of his own and commenting "My dad was such a good dad that when he left, he left a huge scar. He was my superhero."
