Diet spokesmodel Jennifer Hudson has opened her own weightloss centre in her native Chicago, Illinois.
The Oscar winner became the face of Weight Watchers last year (10) after embarking on a strict diet and exercise regime following the birth of her son David Jr. in 2009.
Hudson, who admitted her drastic diet was sparked when no one realised she was pregnant, managed to shed 80 pounds (36.2 kilograms) and now she is helping others to do the same after launching the Weight Watchers Jennifer Hudson Center on Tuesday (27Sep11).
The singer says, "I never thought I would make it to have my own centre. I’m so honoured to be here and see this day."
Weight Watchers bosses have vowed to donate a portion of the facility's profits to the newly-established kids' charity, the Julian D. King Gift Foundation, set up by Hudson in memory of her late nephew, Julian King.
The body of the seven year old was found in a car just three days after Hudson's mother, Darnell, and brother, Jason, were shot dead at the family's Chicago home in October, 2008.
