Jenny Packham convinced Adele to go for sparkles at the Oscars.

The British fashion designer was delighted to dress the 'Skyfall' singer for her big Best Original Song win at the glitzy Hollywood film awards in February, and says she had to persuade the singer to glam up her look by adding sparkle to her black floor-length beaded tulle gown.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the Annual Fifi UK Fragrance Awards 2013 in London last night (16.05.13), Jenny said: ''She obviously likes to wear a lot of black, but because it was the Oscars my input was it had to have a bit of sparkle in it - because you know everyone else is going to be wearing bright colours.

''She gave me the outline of what she'd like and then I embellished it a bit!''

The couture queen revealed she approached Adele herself in the run-up to the event as she is such a fan of the singer's style and was relieved the 25-year-old star loved the finished garment.

Jenny recalled: ''Working with Adele was great, I really enjoyed doing those designs. I wrote to her and said, 'I'd love to dress you', and put together some things and then we started working together.

''It was a dress that had come from our eveningwear show which was actually a week before, so we developed something simultaneously with her. You never know until they step out whether they're going to wear the dress or not!''

The designer didn't deny the rumours Adele has asked her to design her wedding dress for her upcoming nuptials to Simon Konecki, the father of her son Angelo.

Quizzed about the speculation, Jenny remained coy and quipped: ''You know what, I'm not answering that! She's such a beautiful woman isn't she ... I'm not allowed to comment on this!''

The Fifi Awards are known as the Oscars' of the perfume industry and recognise excellence within the Fragrance arena, from Packaging and Advertising through to Best New Fragrance.
