Jeremy Irons thinks he could have had a better film career.

The 61-year-old actor, who has starred in movies including 'Eragon' and 'The Man in the Iron Mask' - even winning an Oscar for his role in 1990 film 'Reversal of Fortune - believes he could have done more.

He said: "All right, some things have been admired. You think, OK, but I'm not that great.

"Film-wise, I invariably look at my work and reckon I could have done better. I'm also conscious that I'm in a profession where we get more praise than we should compared to the usefulness of what I do."

The star claims he doesn't like to show off all of his awards because not all are as meaningful.

He told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "I've got a shelf full of the things. Not Oscars - other awards. I don't wish to sound blase but outside of this country I seem to attract awards. Some of them mean more than others."

Jeremy's last screen outing was in 2009's 'The Pink Panther 2' with Steve Martin and Emily Mortimer.
