Jermaine Jackson - Jermaine Jackson Fears Conrad Murray's Sentence Will Be Too 'Soft'

Jermaine Jackson has broken his silence about the verdict in DR. Conrad Murray's involuntary manslaughter trial, insisting his late brother's physician is facing a "soft" jail sentence.
The singer was in court on Monday (07Nov11) when the guilty verdict was announced, and he must now wait until 29 November (11) to find out how much jail time the medic will serve for administering the anaesthetic that killed his sibling in 2009.
Murray faces up to four years behind bars, but could serve just two or escape with probation, and Jackson fears the doctor's sentence won't match the crime.
In a taped interview with Ellen DeGeneres, which will air on TV in the U.S. on Wednesday (09Nov11), Jackson says, "I think the sentencing was (sic) very soft. I mean you would probably do more time if you stole. If you went into the hospital and stole cases of (anaesthetic) Propofol you would probably do more time.
"To give him two years for taking a life. Forget about Michael Jackson but taking anyone’s life..."
The notion has been reiterated by Jackson's mother Katherine and brother Tito, who tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "Dr. Murray was practising Frankenstein medicine on my brother. He should spend the rest of his life in jail."
Matriarch Katherine Jackson adds, "The verdict was bittersweet. I felt that the jury did the right thing. I was drained emotionally and the pain and hurt I feel inside has never left as they cannot bring Michael back. Dr. Murray deserves a longer jail sentence... I can never forgive Dr. Murray for what he did to Michael. Michael's three beautiful children miss him so and my family and I grieve for him each day."
Jermaine also used the post-trial TV interview to clear up reports his late brother was a drug addict.
Jackson told DeGeneres, "There was an addiction to Demerol in 2001... but that was because of pain. Even during the autopsy report there was no addiction to any of that. Michael just wanted to sleep. He did not want to die. He trusted the doctor."
The grieving brother also recalled the dramatic climax to the trial on Monday, revealing, "My mother cried and we consoled her and the fans were cheering and everything, but it’s not bringing Michael back. We lost a brother."
