Jewish Groups Call For Gibson Boycott

Jewish groups have called for Oscar-winner Mel Gibson to be ostracised from Hollywood and investigated for any breach of race hate laws after his drunken anti-Semitic outburst to a Los Angeles police officer. The call comes after an intoxicated Gibson launched a verbal attack on sheriff's deputy JAMES MEE after he was pulled over for drink driving on Friday (28JUL06) near his home in Malibu, California. According to reports, Gibson said to his arresting officer, "F***ing Jews. The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world." He then asked the deputy, "Are you a Jew?" Gibson issued an apology on Saturday (29JUL06) and a retraction of his remarks, which were reportedly captured on tape. The US Jewish Anti-Defamation League said that the apology was not enough and that Gibson should be ostracised by his peers. The group's national director ABRAHAM H FOXMAN said, "It appears that the combination of liquor and arrest has revealed his true character. "We believe there should be consequences to bigots and bigotry. One way to combat bigots is to put a price on bigotry. "I would hope that if this is in fact true, that his colleagues condemn him and distance themselves from him." Gibson's comments come at a critical time in the Israeli-Lebanese hostilities, with US Secretary of State CONDOLEEZA RICE in Jerusalem trying to broker a ceasefire.

My Mother always said, "Two wrongs don't make a right." After reading this article, it appears that the Jewish Groups and Mr. Foxman are trying to right a wrong with a wrong. This is a two-sided mirror, so to speak. There are consequences for our actions, Mr. Foxman, and come Judgment Day we'll answer for them to the one and only just Judge ~ God! He will judge each of us by our actions here on Earth, and ultimately we decide our fate . . . Heaven or Hell! You will not answer for Mel Gibson's sins, or my sins, or your neighbor's sins; you'll answer for your own sins. Mr. Foxman feels that, "One way to combat bigots is to put a price on bigotry." Open your eyes because there exists an extremely high price of bigotry on Earth . . . the loss of lives in wars! That's one heck of a price to pay because we can't get along. By combatting Jews against Mel Gibson, you're starting another war. I'm taking God's side . . . James 5:9, "Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door."I often wonder what the world would be like today if Jesus had not died on that cross for our sins. Would we even be here on Earth? The people in this world are fighting about something that can't be changed . . . the past. With all of this violence and hatred, do you think God ever regrets having given his son to die on the cross for our sins? What are we doing to show our appreciation for that sacrifice? Just read the newspaper, Internet, listen to the radio or watch television, and it's obvious that we're not appreciative for His selfless sacrifice!May you close your eyes tonight with peace and contentment knowing that you saved a soul today rather than condemned a soul. God Bless!
