Joan Collins is keeping a bedside vigil for her daughter, after she hurt her head in a fall.

Katyana Kennedy Kass, 39, is believed to have slipped over in the foyer of her mother's home in Los Angeles as she returned from having a swim on Friday (27.01.12).

Joan, 78, found her and has been at her bedside at the Cedars-Sinai hospital while she is being treated.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "She hit her head on the door knob and then the marble floor.

"Joan spent the night in hospital with her and hasn't left her side. She's very worried and upset."

Katyana is Joan's daughter with her film producer ex-husband Ron Kass, and the two are very close.

Peter Charlesworth, who manages Joan, has revealed Katyana is "getting along fine" after having minor surgery to a cheekbone.

Katyana is not the only person in the public eye to have suffered a recent injury.

Brad Pitt was forced to walk with a cane for a couple of weeks after sustaining ligament damage when he slipped whilst carrying his daughter Vivienne, while Reese Witherspoon had a catalogue of unlucky mishaps over the last year, including having to wear a soft cast on her left foot after badly twisting her ankle and being left bruised when she was hit by a car driven by an elderly lady in Santa Monica, California.
